Cold grey day again. I got in 2 miles in spite of despite of having a day full of missing my Mom. Pretty much a day when I thought about life, relationships, and the Pacific Crest Trail; even after my morning walk and while at Gilcrease Museum. Dinner was a treat as a dear friend of mine took me for dinner. I enjoyed red curried shrimp and hot and sour soup.
I've started this blog, am changing my eating habits, exercising, and planning for my future first this year and graduating December this year. Planning next too simultaneously is to launch myself into an unknown which no matter how well I train, I will not really be prepared for all of the surprises which I will encounter. Encountering doubts and fears I recognize as being integral in also to my succeeding on the hike with as much training as possible. I will refresh my map and compass skills. What if my GPS doesn't work for whatever reason? My flint and steel fire making needs refreshing just in case. I will obtain my PCT fire permit although I do not plan on having campfires. Refresh my basic wood's medic skills like super glue mending and stiching with dental floss 101. Thru my training my hope is to also hone my drive from what I have learned in life as the best drive to succeed. And so I progress onward.
Hold the door open for somebody today. Hans
